                                                       THE BOB ZOLKA BAND

Bob’s musical career began in 1982 when at fifteen years of age, along with his brother Ernie, he formed
The Zolka Brothers Band. They soon became very popular in their hometown of Youngstown, Ohio,
performing in many of the local establishments as well as weddings and other private functions. In 1985
they released their first recording, “The Zolka Brothers: Polkas & Waltzes” which included the original
tune, “Zolka’s Polka”. Another recording soon followed teaming The Zolka Brothers with “Canada’s
Polka King” Walter Ostanek for “Hands Across The Border III”. They recorded “I Love You” by Steve
Meisner as part of the Penn-Ohio Polka Pals Souvenir Edition Album which was nominated for a Grammy
in 1989. Over the years the band continued to perform at some of the country’s best clubs and festivals.

In 2003, due to family and career obligations, Ernie retired. Bob was determined to keep the Zolka
tradition of energetic polka music as well as rich vocals alive.  This gave birth to The Bob Zolka Band.
The current band members include: Bob Zolka on accordion, Scott Grossen on guitar (24 years with the
Zolkas), John Peplowski on drums, Joe Zdelar on bass guitar, and John Prodesky on sax. For the past
three years, The Bob Zolka Band has been traveling the polka belt  entertaining polka lovers from
Pennsylvania to Illinois and look forward to performing for you for many years to come.
